Gordon Groft was born in South Dakota and took an interest in music during grade school. As the years went by, he taught himself to play many different instruments as he performed with cover bands throughout the United States. Eventually, he landed gigs where he performed as a sideman for 60's stars such as Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits, Tommy Roe and Jimmy Tune from SHA NA NA. He has also performed onstage with Chubby Checker and 50's star Dickey Lee. Recently, he has perfomed in Canada, Japan and throughout the Carribean.

Gordon now fronts his own group, the Gordon Groft Band, which has been performing in and around the Sacramento area for more than a year now.
